Vintage Garage Feature on the Beamish Town Garage

Beamish Motor & Cycle Works, set in the period 1913, gives a flavour of the early days of the motor car together with the industry that was needed to support it. The petrol pump had not been invented at this time and petrol/motor spirit was delivered to the car in containers of mainly 2 gallon cans. On show are many items of particular interest and it seems that the more you look the more you see. Please note that there are items on display of a later date than 1913 but this is acceptable in the context of the story of the 'Garage'.
