Tim Clark's 2 Gallon Petrol Can Collection
Tim Clark, from Yarm in the North East of England, has sent in a variety of 2 gallon petrol can photos from his collection. Some of these photos show the variations that existed in branding for the same company - i.e. the Carburine Motor Spirit cans are an example of this. A particularly rare can is the Shell Motor Spirit can dated 1908 which has the BP company top panel. This dates to the time of the first 'BP', which was German controlled, and which had sole marketing rights of the Shell Company in the UK. All in all a good selection of interesting and rare cans. Our thanks go to Tim for sending in his photographs.
